Jo Malone London ‘Design Editions”

The 'Design Editions" collection photographed with a black Penny Vase.

I've a long and fortunate history working with Jo Malone London, originally as a photographer and then, more recently, designer, artist and general 'Friend of the Brand'.

My fabric designs are used in their interior fit out and select stores are decorated with my hand painted wall plates.

This new collection follows on from the debut 'Design Editions' collaboration in April 2020. The essence of the collection is the layered nature of the scents, each one blending two popular Jo Malone London fragrances.

I interpreted the fragrance layering idea into the design with a layering of patterns in spots, checks and a stripe. I painted the artwork during the first year of the pandemic and what emerged was a colourful series of watery acrylics. The results reminded me of circus costume and the court jester-playful, naive and sophisticated at the same time.

The collection is available online at jomalone.com and in select Jo Malone London stores.

Very entertaining!

English Pear & Freesia combined with Lime Basil & Mandarin.

I photographed the collection in London in one of my favorite locations in Notting Hill, with stylist Charlotte Lawton and Jo Malone London’s creative director, Wandjina Glasheen-Brown- incorporating the full MTS look with jacquard textiles and the ceramics that I create with 1882Ltd.

Ever grateful to be surrounded by talented and caring collaborators.

Happy May
