MTS in Milan and London…April 2023

Have been enjoying the cooler days in Sydney as we slip into Autumn. My favorite season, calming and reflective, cocooned in melancholia.

I am busy preparing for my first outing to Melbourne Design Week where I'll be presenting work with the Sydney based design gallery, Studio Alm.
That's happening mid May.

More immediately...in northern climes we are springing into action.

This Milan Design Week, Fabscarte present an installation of our new collaboration, "Stardust Sunset", at Alcova.

Fabscarte's wall coverings are truly artisanal. Entirely hand-painted and crafted they are more a wall treatment than a wallpaper. "Stardust Sunset" is formed through layers of matter and evokes the lunar surface in a romance of red and bronze tones. It has a complex texture where the three-dimensionality of the surface is rendered with copper and bronze powder that accentuates the deeper surfaces. Silvery reflections and metallic patinas complete the hand crafted process. It's a continuation of the work we started in 2017.... an ode to the moon and stars.

The work is presented at Alcova, an itinerant platform for independent design exploring the city of Milan, bringing historical and significant spaces to life by transforming them into a stage for a selection of designers.

Visit the Fabscarte installation during Milan Design Week at Alcova.
Entrance is free.

In London at Mint Gallery  you can see "Vessels on Vessels", a collection of ceramic works created through a unique collaboration between artists and UK ceramics company 1882Ltd.

The exhibition showcases my work from the recent "Jesture" collection - the Penny, Rosebud and Honeypot vases and towering ceramic columns glazed in an array of earthy and metallic tones that combine my love for colour and tactile patina with 1882Ltd's passion for handcrafted ceramics.
